"In the Sam Price Memorial Cup 2nd Round Swarthmoor Social Club put up a great performance only to be denied at the end against a Highgrove side that played as well as it as done all season. Goals by Carl Pickles and Luke Ogley sealing a good win for Highgrove who now travel to meet the winners of Storeys and Slyne with Hest (LCC) who play this week."

    Sorry! But I saw the game and would hardly say Swarthmoor put up a "great performance". Putting Dave's sending off aside, I didn’t think Swarthmoor got out of first gear from the start. Highgrove were a decent team and played good football but often without an end product. I would say after Dave's sending off there was never going to be any comeback. But credit to the 10 players still playing who doggedly defended for the rest of the game and didn’t concede a goal
