"In Division Two leaders Bowerham are promoted after beating a good Swarthmoor Reserves side by 3-1. Bowerham knew they wanted just the one point to ensure promotion made hard work of it early in the game as they were constantly under pressure by an enthusiastic Swarthmoor Reserves side. As Bowerham gradually got on top they started to score goals by Joe Bouskill, Simon Gillespie and Andy Doggart. Swarthmoor Reserves richly deserved to get on the score sheet and did so with a good goal scored by John Rattigan but was fortunate as the keeper made a hash of catching the ball as it slipped out of his hands and into the net."
