After a narrow 3-2 victory over Morecambe CC, Overton came to Park Road in search of another 3 points which would add to their tally for the teams push for 2nd place.
The home side named a side which looked as if it was going to look to attack from the off. Overton on the other hand controlled most of the 1st half and took the lead through a well placed Jackson Graham strike halfway through the 1st half. They doubled their lead not soon after through hotly disputed Martin Peter header. Peter's head met the ball from an Overton corner which it appeared as if he was holding down Swarthmoors Donnan. The goal counted and at half time with possession roughly shared , Overton lead 2-0.

Swarthmoor received some harsh half time words from Manager Colin Atkinson, which seemed to take immediate effect. Swarthmoor were a different team second half which was full of action.

Swarthmoor pulled one back through a superb John Marrs free kick which came in off the post. Minutes later the same man was red carded following a headbutt on Overtons right back who was also sent off for retaliating.
Overtons right back had been asking for this all game after fouling Swarthmoors Ben Mooney then kicking the ball at him, which should have resulted in a yellow at least.

The game was nearly made 3-1 after Overtons right winger took the ball from the half way line in one of Overtons many counter attacks and ran through on goal. He was stopped by a 50 yeard dash back to goal from Arron Aston to keep the score at 2-1.

The game ended 2-1 to Overton in a game which had been won in the 1st half , but could have easily been lost in the 2nd.

Swarthmoor's next game is away to Furness Rovers, who after beating inevitable champions Bolton Le sands 3-0 2 weeks ago, lost 2-0 to Slyne Hest (LCC) A 2-0 this weekend. Swarthmoor then face Overton's reserves in 2 weeks time in the Squires/Fisher/Howson Cup quater final after they saw off fellow Division 4 members Morecambe CC reserves 3-1. Goals came from Chris Scrogham,John Marrs and a Sean Dixon Penalty.
