Swarthmoor Reserves came to a battered and worn Ryfields pitch determined to break their two losses earlier in the season to Furness Rovers who had beat them in both the League and Cup this season.

The game started quite even with the better chances coming to the home side. Furness went 1-0 up mid half, closely followed by a second which was the fault of a mix up between defender and keeper.

Swarthmoors 1st half performance was like that of every game this season, dissapointing. Conceding too many easy goals and not controlling the game. They let Furness dictate every aspect of the game.

The second half saw it's 1st goal with the 1st attack, from the kick off. a quick couple of passes saw Furness go 3 up 1 minute after half time.

After this Swarthmoor started to buck thier ideas up and became a tighter unit. Thier best chance fell to Aston after a ball from Will Walker was nicely dummied by Moore only for Aston to hit a ball which lacked any sort of venom and the keeper saved comfortably.

Moments later Donnan saw a weak effort saved by the keeper in similar fashion.

The last chance of Swarthmoors attacking threats came from a misguided Jack Moore Header which failed to trouble Furness.

Swarthmoor must have had their minds on next Saturdays game against bottom of the North Lancs football League ladder Overton Reserves in the Squires/Fisher/Howson Cup. Overtons last few league results look positive for the Park Road side with a 9-0 loss to Highgrove Colts at the weekend. The game kicks off at Park Road at 1:30.
